kk i got that fixed ...but the server doesnt show up on the server list for internet is that only because its local for me or is there somthing i have to do to get it on there

in your config change the lines
g_maxgameclients 12
g_gametype 1
team death match will always have red and blue g_gametype 0=ffa
g_gametype 1=tourney g_gametype 3=tda g_gametype 4=ctf

ok i was messing with it a bit when i tried a tdm how do you make it more then 1 per team?
then when i re opened it as a tourny it was still showing up as a tdm in local servers and had blue and red team and didnt reset score when new person joined H3LP M3!!

there are a few ways to run a server in Quake.
it can become pretty involved if i posted all the ways to run 1
so i will just start with an insta server.

First you will need the mod

download the 1.1 version.
multiple versions of the same mod wont work and you wont be able to join a server using any
versions.

unzip all files to your main quake 3 folder.

Now depending on what game you want your server to run will depend on which server config
your going to run. so your going to need to edit that config,

go to your quake folder and open the instaunlagged file and find the config you want to run.
i run the defaultserver-tourney.cfg

open which ever config you want to run with wordpad.
you will see all the settings.
go through each 1 and edit it as you want starting with name of server
motd (message of the day) thats something people will see when they first connect to your server.
mine says Aimbot...You wish. whatever u want or leave it blank.

the default settings are lame and some settings you want to change like the fire rate and the allow ready setting.
if you dont change that you cant spawn frag lol i love that.
also 1 line you will want to put in the config is a rcon password. if you dont have a rcon password
you wont be able to controle your server or change settings or boot people like Ice Cream heh

ok now that your all done edditing your config close everything and go back to your main quake folder
you will see an icon called Run Server
double click it
it will open a black box. follow the directionsor you will end up with something you dont want
and make sure you choose runserver dedicated with heartbeat or else your server wont show up on the multiplayer list

after your start your server close the black box
now you got a blue server box dont close it.
its your server
at the bottom of the box you will see where you can type stuff like server commands or you can
chat as well.

ok now all you have to do is just start quake like you normally do and find your server in the server list in multiplayer
if the multiplayer list doesnt come up (like most of the time) filter through the options till you get to local servers and there will be your server

after joining your server you will need to tyope in the console
what your rcon password is so it knows who the admin is and you can interact accordingly. lol
type /rconpassword (your password) no quotes ie: /rconpassword Ice Cream
Now your all done

i will post a more advanced tutorial on using rcon and all that stuff soon
but for now this should get you started.
